His disappearance at some point during those hundred years, along with the loss of much of his work has always been regarded as a mystery. Still, the occasional archive record or unearthed research paper do manage to find their way back to us; it is one such record we are happy to reveal today.

After the creation of U-NA, Professor Allen felt drawn to further expanding upon the technology it offered. The idea of bending light to form objects within our three dimensional space excited him. So he took to task of trying to develop the technology into something usable. Sadly he never managed to get very far. He was only ever able to create a faceless shape with the help of a laboratory's worth of inventory and machinery. It became a spectacle, but little else.

Thankfully we have managed to find schematics of the technology involved, both for the original technology of U-NA and the prototype model, dubbed LucIA for LUCent Interactive Automaton. The journals we have managed to recover along with them have him compare the process to shadowboxes and hand puppets along the wall. We've managed to rebuild the early version of Lucia, and with the help of modern technology and advances Professor Allen could only dream of at the time we've refined her projector down to a portable spine. Her core personality has also been upgraded and we're happy to say she has so far been a complete success.

We hope that the project will show you the benefit of the Autogenica Institute, and why we continue the work we do. There is much in the past left to learn, things that can benefit us now. Like Lucia.

Excerpt from Professor Allen's Journal

I never met another man quite like Jules; a thinker and a wordsmith whom always had his head in the clouds. Conversations with him were a delight and always inspiring. It was hardly a difficult choice to honor him with my latest creation, a framework that can be strapped to your back and allow flight towards the highest reaches of our Earth. Jules' Fantastical Flying Framework, I only wish he could be here to see the things he's wrought and the ideas he had come to life.

~ * ~

Released for your enjoyment and perusal at Autogenic Alchemy @ Autogenica Noctem, Twilight Tears. U-NA was originally created for a Contest at the Museum of Robots far too long ago, nothing but a fun bit of design with a basic story behind her. There she languished in my inventory as a project I always meant to turn into more but never got around to doing. I'm terribly proud to finally be able to say I have. No long intro for this one needed, it's been a long time coming.

~ * ~

Professor Allen's Journal

Days turned into weeks and weeks became months; so much time spent, but not lost. Reconstructing the missing part of the gear and restoring it became an obsession well worth the time. No matter what else happened during those months, it made little difference in the end. The only thing that matters is that it was finished, completed; and so it was.

I could hardly believe my eyes as the construct began to take form and shape. It all seemed so simple in retrospect that I wondered how no one had thought of it before. Other parts I realized had been, recognizing them from the work of myself and others in the field. I felt almost ashamed, as if I was looking at the answers to a quiz that I hadn't studied for. I felt somehow unworthy of it all, but still savored every drop of knowledge it gave me.

And so it is, completed and finished. I feel fulfilled and yet somehow incomplete. All the time I worked on it and now, I'm done, I'm finished. I scarcely know what to do now. It'll pass, already I feel the knowledge settling down and inspiring my future works. Yet I wonder how long I can continue down this path, of building and construction. I feel the world has passed us inventors by, instead finding art in other places than in the world of science. Perhaps I should turn my eye to fashion...

~ * ~

Released for your enjoyment and perusal at Autogenica Noctem @ Twilight Tears. It's been fraught with adventure, drama, strife, loss and exploration. Sadly we were all rather busy at the time and didn't get to participate in most of it! We'll try to do better this year, we swear. ( All swears are to be taken at face-value, swearing does not equal actual promise to do anything of the sort. Though we'll certainly try. )

The biggest change, though not the most important tidbit this post will reveal is that we've once again made a change of location. We will eventually find a stable place to set up shop, but neighbors can only handle so many rampaging dinosaurs and rather rude explosions before they pull out the pitchforks and torches. On an unrelated note, I have a large collection of pitchforks and torches for sale, only slightly used and bloodied. For those of you still wondering just where this store is, you can find it by clicking the spiffy link: Autogenica Noctem @ Twilight Tears

Let us forget for now the changes of time. The past is present and the present long since past. Instead let us focus upon the latest intrepid adventure had by Professor Allen and Spunky Sidekick Emilly Orr! A discovery of a civilization lost to the past, longing to be restored.

~ * ~

(All pictures taken at Worldview of Crie.)

~ * ~

I awoke that night with the beaded sweat of exhilaration clinging to my skin like a second sheet. The quickly fading glimpses of my dream sparkled before my eyes as I looked out into the shadows around me. I'd flown; hardly a rare dream, I'll admit. I had taken flight however not under my own power but by the sails and engines of a ship that had no balloons hoisting it upon the aether. It swam through the clouds as if they were an ocean revealing to me islands upon the endless horizon and majestic creatures that flitted around.

I didn't even realize my hand was out reaching for that last fading sparkle before I pulled it back, sheepish despite my singular presence. Dreams, truthfully I never trusted them; the insane ramblings of subconscious seeking some matter of settlement on the days past. Hardly a comforting thought when the days past were ones you tried so hard to forget. There were of course, those that said they were instead prophetic, I disliked that notion even more. I hardly needed my dreams having a leg up on me by knowing what was to happen. The Fates were already happy to flaunt that arrogance, lovely women though they were.

This dream however was different, I knew that even as only vague remnants of it teased me with the deftness of the seven veils; not that I'd seen the complete dance, I had only found three of the veils after all. As I pulled myself out of bed much to the protest of the wooden frame and my aching joints, both of which had seemed to conspire together to keep me in that morning, I couldn't help but feel some sort of connection with the fading images. That just made me distrust it even further, I was hardly in the mood to be played like a puppet by some unknown dream that refused to make any sense.

I managed to trudge my way through the morning lull without sparing one thought to what had awoken me with such an energetic start. It was a peace that couldn't last as I looked out across the railing at the sea that stretched out across my view. I saw reaching up from the unbroken sea a clockwork monument, guarded at either side by a globe of what must have been their world. I couldn't do anything but stare at the astrolabe that jutted towards the heavens defiantly. Worn and ruined from the ravages of time, but unmistakable as a mirror of what I saw untouched and unblemished within my dream. I felt rather sure at that point, in a way I previously thought impossible, that the ticking second hand upon its face was taunting me. I do so abhor dreams.

~ * ~

Day 1 of the Excavation

I had long since dismissed the claims of that impossible pirate as nothing but a foolish prank. I had known him far too long and far too well to do so easily, but his claims had the gleam of a madman's eyes in their very writings. I took up his tip in excitement, the possibilities overwhelmed my better judgement. I'm only human, and the pure thrill of what might be discovered taunted me. Yet the days and weeks of travel to the spot far from any shore had their toll, as my previous entries attest too. I cannot apologize for what I have already written, and I've already refused the thought of ripping the pages out, far too much evidence left behind. I can only move forward, I was in error, and fortunately so.

Today, today was indescribable, the trip was worth it if only for today. The beauty of these ancient ruins, the technology that still defiantly runs onward long after their maker's have been lost? I couldn't wait to study everything, however camp came first. Still, the night's young, perhaps I'll take a stroll and see what I discover before turning in. Emilly has already taken to striking ground and researching some of the writings upon the various bases of the monolithic creations. I'm not entirely sure I trust her with the pick-axe; I'm less sure just where exactly she got it. I certainly don't remember packing it.

Day 7 of the Excavation

A week has passed already? It certainly seems hard to imagine. I've been lost in a whirlwind of study and exploration amongst the water born ruins. The Tinnies have been of the utmost help through the week, Penny is as always excellent at taking notes and transcribing and translating the language. Without some form of Rosetta stone however, I fear it's all guesswork and speculation. Carmen and Maestro have kept spirits high if nothing else, though a week of meager meals reminds me that I really should work on a pair of domestics of some sort. I wonder if I could get someone to model a Maid's Outfit for one of them.

I'd usually ask such things of Emilly, but well, tensions have been running high. Not the least of which is Clockwerk taking the job of photographer. A profession he's taken too with some pride, though he doesn't quite understand the meaning of privacy. I find myself looking behind myself more and more, finding Emilly holding her precious pick-axe in a manner that I'll admit I find somewhat threatenings. I trust her, more than anyone else, but these long-term explorations do have a way of...no, no, surely I'm imagining things. One more week left, I best get some rest to continue work in the morning.

Day 12 of the Excavation

A breakthrough! No, more than that, a discovery. Cordelia and Mer-form Emilly have taken to scrounging the waters for items and interest and from their eager tales they've found something amazing. I'm hesitant to raise hopes at this point, but I can hardly help it. Everything they describe fits with what we've already seen and what I know of technology. It took everything I had not to jump into the water with them, I'll admit.

Tomorrow; the solution for the Hyde Retrovirus is already brewing. Tomorrow I'll be able to take my trip down there with them without those pesky issues of air and pressure. I doubt I'll be able to sleep. Perhaps I'll take a look at the paintings we've found, see what secrets they hold.

Day 13 of the Excavation

I was right; discovery! A mere broken gear has brought back the excitement of that first day. I'm sorry this has to be the last. I'm convinced that given more time we'd find more of these gears. I already have an idea of what they are, but until I find my way back to the Institute I can do little but write notes and idea in utter frustration. It's like an itch I can't quite scratch.

Cordelia also found some sort of egg, I barely had time to give it a second glance. The gear subsumed everything around it. Still, we'll bring it back, and I'll see if I can't figure out what sort of creature it once belonged too. After I see just how to make this gear tick of course. How I wish I could see it as it was, without the worn sheen and the broken edge. It's almost a perfect encapsulation of this whole adventure. Ruins and forgotten times, standing strong yet incomplete. What I'd give to know it as it was; at least I'll hopefully be able to take the first few steps towards such a thing.

Of Small Whirring Gears and Mysterious Fluids

Today, as Some of Our Friends may Know, marks Creator Allen's Natal anniversary 'pon this Pixillated Dreamscape. They either embrace it, and step willingly into what it could bring, or they fight against it. Autogenic Alchemy has decided to at least try and change. As such we will likely be giving up our Penzance store, hoping to find another in Caledon. Products will still be released there until we leave, but I do recommend updating your bookmarks to the Black Sands store as soon as you can.

The future however, will still be there tomorrow, it is always forward marching like that. The twisted celebration of chaos that drives us all mad...Have you heard the tales, the stories, the truth, the fiction? I can guess you have not, for I do not sense the fear that it so properly deserves. The Noche Obscura, the dark day when sanity is lost, and the veil parts.

I sought not to learn the truth of the Black Friday. I had never truly been the curious sort. I know now that it was never a choice I had to make. Life thrust the reality of itself upon me. And once one has seen it, there is no escaping the memory. It remains vivid and fresh, to the point where I wonder if the life I live now is but a dream I am having as I experience insanity.

I had been walking home that day, counting the cracks on the sidewalk. I did not particularly need to, I had counted them more times then I care to recount now. It was simply something to do, and one never knows when a new crack could form. And as such I walked on, pulling my jacket closer that cold Autumn Friday, cursing the ever closer Winter. I walked until I fell sideways, into a crack I had missed upon the sidewalk.

There was the rustle of fabric across my ears, and I was rather sure the sidewalk had collapsed beneath me. I was so sure in fact I found myself surprised when I realized I was not moving. The revelation of which promptly caused me to trip and see beyond the edge I found myself on.

Deep beneath me, lay a city, or what had once been. Stone ruins that formed an intricate pattern I dare not describe. And at the center was life, a creature I had never before seen. It pulsated in time with the beat of the world, for I noticed now that the horizon was not still. It too moved, breathed one could say, dancing across the ground merrily. It was a twisted vision, that was only smothered by the creature's visual attraction.

I do not mean to say it was attractive, but only that it was a draw. My eyes were torn towards it as I saw it give birth. Eggs lifted from deeper in the creature's form and slid out, rolling across the pulsating flesh to where they lay in a ring around it. I watched in horrid fascination, feeling a curiosity that was surely not my own. This ritual continued and I watched with rapt attention, until I saw the creature's eye. It had fallen upon me, it had seen me. And I could feel myself falling into it, as the Iris continued to fall inwards towards the black pupil.

I scrambled backwards away from the eye, pulling myself up though I had not remembered falling so deep. Reality no longer made sense and dark rock gave way to the ground and sidewalk I had so recently been walking. I laid there breathing, feeling my heart beating against my chest. It was my first brush with what laid beyond the veil, and even as I drew in breath after fevered breath, I knew it would not be my last. For my heart no longer beat as it did, it beat in time with the rhythm of that world I had seen, that fateful Black Friday.

~ Howard Phillips

~ * ~

And as our own Black Friday draws to an end, Autogenic has managed to find these delightful eggs and raised them to an age where they can be properly be taken care of by the public. I do wish you the best this Black Friday, and do keep care for any cracks in the veil.

A Beautiful Infestation

As promised, Halloween has brought two new products to our collection. They've been availiable in the new store for a bit and they are now out at the Penzance store in Caledon as well.

Though, I feel I must warn you. These products bring dark tidings with them. An infection that will only spread as the months go on. Perhaps the information we have gleaned from the future will help us now.

~ * ~

I fear what may come this season. I wonder whether the cold that has settled around these late months is something more than just Winter. Thanksgiving has passed and only a few days remain till the larger festivities begin. Today is the day I was presented with the first patient.

I am not a doctor by trade, I will admit, and it came as a shock to me when they arrived at my door. They brought with them a sickly woman with a healthy figure, an attribute I don't deny admiring. A certain sensuality that wrapped one's spine up and stroked down its length. There was no doubt all present noticed the effect, and without knowing what they were doing there I hurried to bring the woman to the lab.

It was an experience to say the least, placing her within the chamber. Her struggles did not reveal any violence, it was more as if she was trying to make love with her captors than kill them. A graceful fluid motion that made her completely bare flesh evident. If it wasn't for the alien looking skin that covered her up at all the appropriate parts, I fear it may have very well been indecent.

As it was, it was intriguing, and she was eventually placed within the chamber. An oxygenated liquid surrounded her and kept her still. She reminded me for a second of a mermaid in an aquarium, as she floated. That image was quickly removed as I walked around her, replaced by the image of a dragonfly holding its victim in thrall.

I had little idea what to make of it all, I still don't. All I know was her care has been placed in my hands. Though I fear she is not the only one infected, that they made sure I understood clearly. The holidays draw near, the cold blankets us all, and today, today I had a glimpse of the future.

~ * ~

Make of this what you will. Truth be told neither I nor the resident Mistress of Time know exactly what year this was written. Our resident Chronus Magi has been finding snippets from some future or another. None of the recovered information bodes well, but as always, the future is in flux. Unless someone has seen it, in which case it's not, except of course unless you change which fourth dimensional universe you are in. Don't think about it too hard, you may end up spawning some sort of fifth dimensional creature if you do. Really, it's happened.

However, in better news from the present, I'm happy to once again pretend to promise that there will be more updates more often than not. Take that as you will. I am also happy to be able to say that there are at least two new products on the way, and a brand new store on generously donated land to peruse them at.

~ * ~

There is no stopping the ever turning gears of progress. Set into motion in the first second that began the expansion of the universe, all progresses onward. To stagnate, is to die. To reverse, to kill. One merely has the choice of being drawn up by the progress in its wake, or guiding it ahead. For progress is ever onward, and always forward. You can never again be where you were. One learns, one grows, one expands.

I am pleased to be able to announce such an expansion for Autogenic Alchemy. A new store that will hopefully help Autogenic Alchemy be the driving force behind its own progress. Brick for brick designed by the Allen Family, it is an honour to be able to to return to the hallowed halls and show off all that has come since. The mixing of old with the technology of new.

Visit the New Store at Black Sands

You'll find all of my creations and tinkerings there, and for those that make a visit in the next few days you'll also have a chance to grab the two latest products. The two of which will be officially released in a day or two in Penzance as well. I do hope that you enjoy the new location as much as I do, brick, copper, and glass make its form, but you as always are its spirit.

~ * ~

Two new products, I told you! But not just any textures--no, I am no Great Artist, I am no Architect Divine. My province is fabric, oddity, and paper ephemera.

To wit, there are now Two Vendors selling individual Ragtime Sheet Music covers (for L$10 per texture) and Below can be Found two Boxes of Ragtime Sheet Music--all Twenty-Five in One Place for the sum of L$250.

On the Other side of the Upstairs, can be found Three Vendors; these Vendors offer scattered Architectural Images, Images of the Odd and Surreal, some limited Packaging Textures, and a selection of Madras Fabric Textures for the Summer Season.

Just go Upstairs to Lady Disdain; though soon, You will Also Find the two Ragtime Music Collections on XStreetSL.

I thank you. Let me be the first to rectify this with the announcement of the renaming of Kartiny above Autogenic Alchemy, and the two new gowns and shape released forthwith.

Fable Vio

Fable Vio, the original, is detailed in crushed purple velvet, with four simple corsets offered on jacket, shirt and undershirt layers, along with skirt and two styles of glitch pants to help with the two separate flexi skirts. This outfit comes with gloves, seamed tinted stockings and two separate styles of blouse, one with lace collar, and one without.

It is designed solely to benefit the RFL, and the suggested minimum donation is L$200.

Fable Bloo

Fable Bloo, another color that will only be offered for 2009's RFL, is detailed in crushed velvet as well, in a shade I am fairly reliably informed is "bloo". There are two, not four simple corsets offered on jacket, shirt and undershirt layers, along with skirt and two styles of glitch pants to help with the two separate flexi skirts. This outfit also comes with gloves, seamed tinted stockings and two separate styles of blouse, one with lace collar, and one without.

It is designed solely to benefit the RFL, and the suggested minimum donation is L$200.

Everything is fully moddable and copyable, no transfer, but you can transfer the box it comes in (at least, that's the hope, permissions being so tricky these days).

Anticipate future arrivals of Fable, but in vastly different shades.

Secondly, Hodge-Podge Shapes retains its name, and offers the second-ever shape release, and the first for nonhuman avatars:

Tabby

The Tabbycat shape. Tabby is designed to be worn with neko skins, and she is designed primarily with the domesticated housecat firmly in mind: she is a plump purring bundle that shifts only so far as the sunbeam moves, and would prefer the mice are brought to her, please.

She is as rounded as the avatar mesh allows; her head and hands, to be comparable with her dimensions, are slightly larger than normal; this may need to be taken into account with wigs and prim nails. Her feet are not sized to scale; they retain their slider 0 positions, to better accommodate most SL shoemakers' designs.

She comes in two versions (with human ears, and with all the ear sliders minimized), and does not come with neko ears or tail, or neko skin. This is the shape only, retailing for L$125.

Go to Lady Disdain (in the same place that Kartiny occupied, naturally), above Autogenic Alchemy, to see them in person. Over the next month the upstairs will be redesigned and most if not all of the vendors remodeled. (It's in progress now.)

We thank you for your support. Mucking about with the time space stream causes a lot of problems, you see. Sometimes you just forget what day it is, or month, or year...or epoch. This is why we have our faithful Chrono-witch, helping us out when we accidentally destroy the timeline. In summary, this post is nearing a Month late, for those of you with Linear Time Views, so I'm sorry. This is an announcement long in the making and we apologize for the delay. The Chrono Witch managed to fix the Time Distortion only by jumping Autogenic Labs ahead a month or two. We'll be catching up with events while you see what we've been up too!

~ * ~

Attention readers, this just in off the news wire: Explosions, Chases, Exploration, and DANGER! Why yes it's Adventure! at every turn here at Autogenic. There's nothing quite like it to get the pulse racing and clockwork hearts ticking. And you'd be hard pressed to find more of it then you'll get with Autogenic's latest pair of creations. From high-flying antics, to underwater ruins, we have it all, and you can have it too.

Corsair McCloud, master of the skies, and accomplished Aeronaught. No stranger to danger, he's seen the whole world from the cockpit of his favorite plane, the Maelstrom. Action and adventure follow him as his most faithful of allies, always sure to appear right when he least expects it. Straight from the Pulp Novels that came out of the Turn of the Century this is one Iron Tiny with nerves of steel! Sure to keep everyone riveted to the edge of their seats with his next high flying adventure!

Cordelia Marise compliments our flyboy with her deep sea dives and explorations of a world long forgotten. She's seen her fair share of danger and excitement, coming across such horrible beasts as the Killer Clownfish, and the Black Seahorse of the Chessire Reefs. She has also had her share of wonderment and awe from the beauty of it, all documented in her bestselling book "The Unbelievable Underwater Creature Compendium". She's one girl who proves that you don't need an empty space in your head to have real adventure!

These two are most assuredly the start of new tales that will be weaved over time, each new adventure adding to the tapestry of their life! You'll thrill at their talents, you'll gasp at their generosity, you'll swoon at their secrets. The adventure of a lifetime is ready, and remember Corsair's motto: "Seek Adventure, Before it Seeks You!"

~ * ~

...did what? Oh, welcome back! I was just finishing catching up with what we've missed here at Autogenic. I'd love to stay and chat, but I've got a Perky Sidekick to fill in. So let me just leave you with my usual guarantee that these Tinies are as always Mix& Matchable with their brothers and sisters, and that if I do say so myself, they both come with the most amusing stories I've yet written for the Iron Tiny line. If I get support, I might think about making more tales about the two. I know, because I started designing clothes when I could not afford to purchase new ones, that many of my designs are nearly everyday wear.

On occasion, though, some item or other falls by the wayside, and I don't wear it for days, weeks, even months at a time. This happened to be the case with my Fleur-de-Lys Duster set.

Feeling a need for something that would, in some sense, match the Avarian sands, I searched around for that outfit, and lo and behold, there is severe prim drift in the duster.

This is dismaying. Even more dismaying is the fact that, as a business owner, I've only been keeping track of folks who buy my items up to thirty days prior--while I generally will give items over repayment, if no one's come forward to complain or request either, I've been assuming they are pleased with their purchase, and life meanders on.

This has created a quandary, though. How do I track down people the drift might have affected? How do I get in touch with them if I've long since discarded their name?

The only solution that seems to work for my sense of ethics is...over the course of September, Kartiny upstairs will be substantially revised. All attire will be examined and rebuilt. And every outfit in which I notice prim drift will be set to Mr. Allen's "Priceless" setting. You'll be able to acquire it for a pittance, or for no cost whatsoever, if you need to replace something.

And then I'll start work on new items, after that. It's only fair, I think.

This Just In Off The Wire!

Explosions abound in the labs of Autogenic Alchemy as we work towards three new products to offer to our loyal readers. In preparation for what's to come, we offer an exciting announcement!

~ * ~

The era of communication is upon us! No longer are we bound to the news of our own homestead, for the world itself lies at our feet each and every day. No longer do we have to wait days, if not months to hear from our loved ones, using the antique method of mail we've grown up with. No, the future lies in instantaneous communication. It lies in the heart of the great inventors seeking to bridge the gap between people and one day create a global civilization that spans from horizon to horizon. And now, Autogenic offers its first throw of the hat into this exciting field of scientific discovery.

The Autogenica group telegraph!

A method for everyone, civilian and professional alike, to keep abreast of the latest news from the laboratory of Autogenic Alchemy. Be prepared, and step boldly into the future with Autogenic Alchemy by your side, and in your ear!

~ * ~

As you just heard, Autogenica is now the official group for Autogenic Alchemy and Friends. We'll indeed be keeping things updated, and be sure not to deluge you with notices. There may be rewards for joining in now, and there will definitely be a chance to be a Test Subject for new products before they come out for all our members, not to mention the unfinished creations of our Artificers which may just find their unreleased way to group members. Join today, and keep updated, I'll see you next time, hopefully with better news, and less burn marks.

Thank you,
Fawkes Allen
Primventor

Music in the Air

Warning, due to possible interference in the Time Stream, this post may not be posted when it says it was posted. From the cradle of Mesopotamia, to the skies of Arcadia, music is something that has been, and always will be created, listened too, and adored. It is the binding beauty of community, and the wondrous rapture of life. It changes, it adapts, it evolves, but it remains, and now it has done so again. Two new Iron Tinies have been brought forth to the world, to entertain and excite.

Crescendo della Tempo, the Male of the pair, is better known around the lab as the Maestro. Built with the potential for greatness, he was made to learn music from scratch, in the hope he'd be more then a music box. With the hope that his music would have emotion, heart, and flaws. He was a masterpiece, and with time came greatness indeed. Conducting his symphonies at Theatres across the known world.

Carmen de la Muse, the Female of the pair, is a bit different. Where Crescendo was content to stay at home Carmen had spirit! She learned the movement of dance and the enjoyment of song, and with that left to make her name in the world. She went from England to Europa, from Shanghai to India. She went across the world, seeing every stage, and capturing every heart. She occasionally finds her way back home, to where her family is waiting for her, but she never stays.

With these two done, Autogenic Alchemy feels it has done its service to the world of music. As such, it is happy to offer two wonderful Automatons that each understand the soul of lyrical passion, and hopes that you'll enjoy them both as well. With talent, and with time, you could have the next Maestro, and with patience, and grace, you could see the birth of a new star for the stage.

As always, the release of these two Iron Tinies also marks the release of their Plushie versions. Just as adorable as the full size models, they'll be sure to entertain well and make a wonderful gift.

~ * ~

I dearly hope you'll enjoy both of these new creations. I've tried my best to capture music where I can into their design. I also hope you'll enjoy the possibilities they offer for Clockwerk & Penny, both having outfits that are usable for the earlier two Tinies. Either way, enjoy and we'll hope to have the interference in the time stream fixed by the next announcement.

Thank you,
Fawkes Allen
Primventor

New This Week: Hodge-Podge Shapes

I admit, I'm excited about this one! No point me going on about it here, so read on and enjoy.

~ * ~

As we march on into the new century we find ourselves with new needs and desires that touch upon the ageless quests of civilization. Information comes at us from all sides, and no longer do we have the time to learn it all, nor can we, short of cloning or time paradox, truly do it all even if we did learn. And so, the Renaissance Man has become, if not an impossibility, an improbability. Yet, technology can once more become our savior in this regard, with ways to learn quicker, or spread yourself over many tasks at once.

Autogenic however, offers a simpler solution for those not willing to subject themselves to the bleeding edge of science. We offer a solution used in Autogenic's Labs, Shop, and the personal homes of our designers in order to experience and accomplish much in the sadly shortened time frame mortal life offers us. Today, we proudly announce and offer the latest in modern clockwork and steam technology, the Iron Tinies.

Clockwerk & Penny are the first in a line of Iron Tiny creations, each designed with abilities that range from the every day to the fantastic, letting them help you with whatever you may need. A quirky personality and the ability to mix and match their parts lets you truly take these clockwork characters and make them your own for whatever task you have for them!

The possibilities become endless when you own one of our Iron Tinies, let Penny write out that story that's been trapped in your head, or perhaps let Clockwork meet and greet your guests, or, if you're particularly brave, let him help on your inventions. Either way, with one of Autogenic's Iron Tinies, the world is at your fingertips within a time frame that still lets you enjoy afternoon tea.

'Priceless Plushie'

In celebration and recognition of the release of our Iron Tinies, Autogenic is also releasing a slightly updated version of the crowd favorite Clockwerk Plushie for sale under the 'Priceless' system. The only difference will be that Clockwerk's Version will not refund 1L payments. The Iron Plush version of Clockwerk will be sold along with the rest of the line of Iron Plushies, but be the only one sold under Priceless. Each will come equipped with the same ability to let you speak through them from the original, along with a holding animation thankfully provided by Pandora Wrigglesworth.

You can as always, find these wonderful creations at our store Autogenic Alchemy, and we hope to see you there soon.

~ * ~

I hope you all enjoy the release, we've been looking forward to these for a while now, and I'm happy to finally be able to announce them. This is actually the first part of two posts I'll be making, hopefully the second will be ready for announcement within the week, and I want this post up before then to help explain some things.

~ * ~

The world is changing in front of our eyes. The drive and passion of the Victorian age are giving way to something new, something wonderful. Where before there was a time when the only method of making a product was hours of work on each and every one, technology has come through, letting us standardize some of the harder parts, and from there adding those personal flourishes we are so well known for. This may, in the views of many, soon birth the 'Industrial Age' of our civilization.

However, it has come, for some, at a cost, the way we knew, of Customs and Capitalism are, if not finished, slowly finding their way towards a more open method of economy. We are entering an age where people will make or take what they want, where prices will be whim purely to the economy and the decisions of wealthy men who are out of touch with those below. I can only imagine there will be much derision as people take, refusing to cater to the exorbitant prices that plague everything, whether out of principal or financial status, or even those who take simply in the view that knowledge should be free.

I however, am willing to take the first step into this new world, not by making my products harder to buy, harder to steal. Those methods usually only hurt the very consumers whose loyalty one should depend upon. Instead, I am giving into the philosophy as well as I can, with a new method of payment that will compliment the old.

'Priceless'

Priceless is an important word, it represents the idea that one cannot truly place a value upon one's work. That everything is worth something different to everyone. It is a word that today I use to describe a philosophy that I will be using to sell some, but not all, of my products. It is experimental, it is unstable, it may fail, it may succeed, and I may change or tweak it as time goes on, but progress does not get made by standing back and hoping.

The basis, of the Priceless system, is rather simple. Pay, what you think it's worth, with what one can. One pays the Vendor, whatever they wish, from 1 to 1 million if they so desire. They will receive the item regardless, for if they do not get it from me, they will get it from another, and I'd much rather that they get it from me for nothing, and that they in appreciation tell others where to get it.

From there, there are many questions to be asked about the implementation, due to the limits that bind us in our Second Life. Should one be able to receive it for 0 by simply paying 1 and getting a refund? Should instead I offer no refund and set the price from 1 - Infinity? Should I offer something for those who pay more, a token of gratitude perhaps that encourages more, or would that simply be hiding beyond the same sort of Capitalism that will drive the calls of piracy?

I am nothing if not open to suggestions, to thoughts, and thankfully this very post has a lovely method of letting me hear them. If you have suggestions, thoughts, or simply wish to offer thanks for something or another, be sure to leave a comment.

I don't plan to change the world with this, I'm not even going to be changing my store. Most Products, at first, will still be released with a set price point. Will this change in the future? Perhaps, if you wonderful lot help prove that it can work. That one can depend upon the nature of people to truly offer what they think an item is worth. I am offering my trust out there, and am truly hoping to see people give me theirs in turn. But whether one pays 1, or 1000, I will be grateful, if only because it means my product was worth taking, worth having.

'Statuesque'

Which, in the end, brings me to this, to those of you who have read through most of what I've said, a new product. A skin. Statuesque. Just a simple skin that transforms your skin to marble, and you into a work of art.

It is based off Eloh Eliot's wonderful PSDs, and though I will try to keep the number of Another Skin creations to a minimum, I thought this skin, an experiment into some deeper genetic modifications, would be a perfect exploration for the new method. Eloh has offered the skins for free, with no strings attached, and it's only right that in my own way, I do the same.

As such, Statuesque will be testing out the 1L refund method of 'Priceless'. As always, this may change, it may depend upon the product itself. However, the idea is there, come, get yourself a skin, pay what you think it's worth for the work done, or feel free to simply have it as a gift from Autogenic Alchemy to you.

~ * ~

There's not much else to say beyond that, I hope you all support what I'm trying to do here, and I hope you all make sure to keep watch for more. There's a lot more planned, with avatars, plushies, and perhaps a few surprises that even I'm not sure of yet. The encouragement I've gotten in world so far has been wonderful, and I'd like to thank everyone reading this as well, I hope you spread the word, and keep watching, the world is changing, and I'm hoping to be there at the front changing it.

Thank you,
Fawkes Allen
Primventor

So Very Busy With the Things You Never See

It has been quite some time since we've updated, hasn't it?

Well, soon we'll have more. And no, we may not *be* there the full 24 hours, but we'll be in and out.)

News From the Front Lines

No, alas, no new product announcements, we've been busy re-engineering CiCi--in, I think, a much better direction!--but start thinking about one thing, if you would:

We're having a grand opening!

Sometime the evening of January 12th, I do believe, we haven't decided when yet--we are "officially" open for business!

We're currently working through such details as DJ, do we wish dances, and when it's going to be--but we'll let you know!

In the meantime we are busy busy busy behind the scenes, to get the place ready. He was a Scientist, a Primventor, there was much he could do on his own, but as everyone should know, Mad Science needs the Audience, the Assistant.

And so far, he was stuck with Emi, who was capable enough, when she didn't flutter off to shop for hair, or took up his lab space, cackling over creating clockwork fruit, or secreted herself off in the attic, growing her own eyes--

He sighed again. He knew exactly where his gas chromatograph had gone. And now this.

He went upstairs, through her oddly staggered system of teleporters, and found more prototype mice in their home.

"Emi," he started, sighing, and then stopped, blinking down. His assistant was curled up on the wooden floor nearly around one of the clockwork mice, giggling rather maniacally. She was tossing one of the prototypes into the air, batting at it, and letting it fall to the ground. She was...more than slightly on the emerald side.

"Why..." he started, and then stopped. It was always tricky asking shapeshifters why they looked the way they looked. Finally he decided just to ask.

"Why are you--green?"

She shrugged a little, eyes bright. "Too much copper, I think."

"Too much--what?" He dropped to kneel beside her, and only then noticed the one she was mostly obscuring with her knee. This one had more than nibble marks on the metal. This one was...missing...gears.

"Emi! You didn't!"

"They smelled like catnip! And they wouldn't stop racing around!"

He looked at the other early prototypes of the clockwork mouse, shaking his head once more. They weren't racing now. In fact, the wheels spun on all of them, but they didn't so much move across the floor anymore.

"What did you do?" he asked patiently.

"I caught them," she said, giggling. She tossed the one into the air again. "They're ever so much fun to play with...they squeak like real mice!"

Catnip Clockwork the Mouse!

~--*--~

Catnip Clockwork is a fully working clockwork mouse. With moving parts and gears. Sadly, he's not the smartest mouse, and though the wheels are turning, he isn't really getting anywhere. Do not despair however! Equipped with a pouch of Catnip inside, when wound up he becomes a wonderful plaything for cats and catpeople alike! Don't miss out on owning your very own Catnip Clockwork the Mouse! He's cute, he's cuddly, he may eat all your cheese.

Thanks,
Fawkes Allen

~--*--~

Contact Fawkes Allen, Premiere Primventor with questions or suggestions.

Come see him.

Catnip retails for L$200 and is a fully working clockwork rodent, capable of being wound up and wound down. Comes with his own supply of catnip and a small variety of squeaking noses. He is made of--

Fawkes Allen stops transcribing when Emi races across the storefront. What on earth is it now, he thinks, and takes off after here.

"You get away from my GRAPEFRUIT!" she yells.

"Emi..."

"He's going to eat it! I know! GET AWAY from that bowl!"

He strokes her hair, shaking his head again. Did other Mad Scientists have these problems?

"You need to make him some clockwork cheese..." Emi mutters.

"No," he says. Then he grins.

"Have another?" He steps back as she squeals and pounces on top of the table, the distinctive neko ears and tail restoring as she captures the clockwork mid-shift.

He coughs slightly into the transcription device.

We'll keep some safe from her.
